Four stages, each with a visible handoff
- 1. Align the request
State intended use, core and outer material, firmness basis, diameter, length, surface, color, branding, pieces and packaging. Mark open specifications as questions rather than invented values.
- 2. Screen possible suppliers
Ask each candidate to identify the proposed construction, normal quantity conditions, sample route, customization limits and quotation exclusions. Supplier identity and capability require direct confirmation.
- 3. Normalize quotations
Compare one currency, piece or set basis, artwork, tooling, samples, packaging, carton and freight scope. Keep quote validity and timing assumptions visible; do not compare an ex-works unit figure with an all-in destination scope.
- 4. Coordinate samples and questions
Record sample identity, measured dimensions, surface finish, packaging and unresolved deviations. Written buyer approval and supplier order confirmation remain separate.

Dimensions and firmness
Request the measurement method, stated tolerance and any test method used for density, hardness or compression. Different methods and conditions cannot be treated as equivalent results.
Claims and US scope
Therapeutic, safety or performance statements need appropriate substantiation and buyer review. The CPSC standards index can scope questions but is not proof that a quoted item complies.
Commercial confirmation
MOQ, price, availability, pack count, lead-time assumptions and freight exclusions stay open until a supplier issues a response for the named configuration.
